Celebrate farming. growing and our agricultural heritage in South Florida on Oct. 28-29! GrowFest and the Redland Heritage Festival, two beloved, longtime festivals at Fruit and Spice Park, are now the Tropical Harvest Heritage Festival.

Eat, drink and meet the people who grow our food, explore and learn about our agricultural past and present through food demos, sangria tastings, talks, farmer-themed costume contest and much more. Buy plant starts and fruit trees plus garden supplies and learn from the pros how to get the best results. Watch demos and taste delicious foods from top South Florida culinary experts including award-winning chef Allen Susser.

Edible South Florida Culinary Demos

All weekend long from 9:30am-4:30pm look for food demos and workshops on cooking with local foods in season in South Florida, brought to you by chefs and culinary experts.

Saturday, Oct. 28
11:30 – Thi Squire of Grow2Heal Garden at Baptist Health and Qingren Wang of the Miami-Dade UF/IFAS Extension – Asian vegetables and what to do with them
1pm – Chef Allen Susser will prepare Avocado Aji Amarillo Ceviche, using local avocados and produce
2:30 – Chef Amalia Andara, pastry chef at FEI will make Tropical Fruit Tart and Mousse with local tropical fruits

Sunday, Oct. 29
10am – Emile Fernsby of Blu-Zone will make Tropical Fruit Ravioli
11:30 – Thi Squire of Grow2Heal Garden at Baptist Health will show how to make Papaya Salad
1pm – Chefs Osmel Gonzalez and Evan Burgess of the new Miami Shores restaurant EntreNos will prepare Crudo (seafood) and vegetables

Food and drink: Joey Bag-o-Donuts, Island Time Catering, Acai Way organic fruiy bowls, Smokin’ Mamma’s foodtruck, Lobsta Rolls,  Corny Copia, Shaved Ice Goodies, Watson Way Cafe, AAden Sweet Treats, Miguel Bode Honey, Redland Ahead produce, tropical fruit sundaes from Tropical Fruit and Vegetable Society, Tropical Fruit and Vegetable Society. Sangria tastings and beer will be sold by Fruit and Spice Park.
